InterFlight Studio sponsors Air Race Classic Team 8 and hosts fundraising event at the gallery
Gallery owner Yvette Garcia spoke to the crowd and wished the flying duo, Tamra Sheffman and Kristen Jurn, lots of luck on their inspiring journey in the Classic Air Race, also flown by Amelia Earhart. Garcia then went on to introduce Barrington Irving who gave a heartwarming speech praising the "ladies in red" for their participation in the Air Race and touching upon his own world record-setting flight around the globe as the youngest (at 27 years) and first black man to do so. Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and wines while appreciating the contemporary art by Flight Studio Gallery's female artists Desiree Bordes and Jo-Ann Lizio. A very successful silent auction helped raise funds for the Air Race and concluded a very successful evening.
InterFlight Studio supported Classic 8 as Tamra Sheffman and Kristen Jurn took off in their Cessna 182 from Opa Locka Airport and WPLG Channel 10 news was there to cover their inspiring story!
Many friends and sponsors came to see them off. Also there, was Barrington Irving and his students from Experience Aviation. First stop for the flying duo, Tallahassee for lunch and then on to Monroe, LA to stay with friends for the evening.
